We always talk about it. But not many know what it is.
This is it. GPS (Global Positioning System)
My dad bought it when I was in first semester. He uses it while driving to Sri Iskandar to see me. At that time, we rent a homestay for one night to spent time together because I haven’t seen my family for quite a long time. In the evening, my dad decided to go to Ipoh as he wanted to go to Jaya Jusco. When he started driving, I wondered why he doesn’t use the GPS. He said, “never mind, we can find the way without using it.” OK. That time was about 3:35 pm.
45 minutes later… I saw he was like confused looking at the signboard along the road.
I know he doesn’t really sure where were we at that time. I just keep quiet and watch him.
We were in the car about one hour but I still didn’t see any signboard to Ipoh. Finally he said, “I think I have taken the wrong way”.
My mother was fell asleep as she was so tired sitting in the car from Klang to Sri Iskandar and now to Ipoh. Then he decided to ask people which way lead to Ipoh. Time showed 4:45 pm but we still don’t get there. We were sitting in the car for about more than 1 hour! SIGH
FINALLY he decided to use the GPS. He stops the car at the roadside and starts typing the address JAYA JUSCO IPOH. Then there’s a voice saying the direction to be followed. On the GPS monitor, it shows the path or ways that lead to Ipoh and the path is colored with red. Whenever we take a wrong way, the GPS will give warning and recalculate to give another direction.
Finally we get there at 5:25 pm. Since then, my dad always uses the GPS whenever he doesn’t know which road to be taken.
Just a little information dear readers…
GPS sometimes doesn’t really accurate in giving direction. No matter how expensive a GPS device is, when it comes to getting where you want to go, it's really only as good as the satellite network and its map data. The first strike against GPS is that satellite signals aren't 100 percent accurate. They can't determine your precise location. They're pretty close though, within 164 to 328 feet (50 to 100 meters) [source:Corvallis Microtechnology Inc.].
Well not everyone knows how to use the GPS isn’t it? Take a look at this..
Thanks for reading! :)
